Ashley Academy seeks students of average, above average, or gifted ability who have intellectual curiosity and motivation to perform successfully. One of the goals of the admissions process is to bring together a group of students who represent diverse cultural and economic backgrounds thus contributing a variety of interests and talents to the school community. Ashley Academy admits students of any race, religion, gender, or national background.

I. APPLICATION
To initiate the admission process, the school requires a completed application form and the application fee of $50. The fee, which includes informal testing, is non-refundable and cannot be applied towards tuition. Click here for the 2010-2011 application form.

II. STUDENT VISIT
A classroom visit is required for all applicants. The family should contact the school office to schedule a day that works for the family and teacher. During your child’s visit, some assessments or an interview will occur allowing the school to determine the educational and social fit for your child. Note: Applicants for grades kindergarten through seventh visit at their current grade level.

III. PARENT VISIT
The parent visit provides the opportunity for families to meet with the Ashley Academy staff, tour the campus, and learn about school programs and curriculum. Please contact the office to schedule a visit.

IV. SCHOOL RECORDS & REQUIRED FORMS
Applicants must submit current scholastic records which should include grade or progress reports, report cards, or transcripts. These forms must be sent directly to the school office from the student’s current school. Other required forms which include the immunization record, proof of good health, and copies of birth certificate and social security card must be on file before the student is allowed to attend class.

V. ADMISSIONS REVIEW
All completed applications (with all required steps satisfied) are reviewed by the Director to determine whether the student and the school are an appropriate match for one another. Parents will be notified when a decision is made. In cases where no openings are available but the student meets the admissions criteria, the option of placement on a waiting list is offered. Preference is given to siblings and children of alumni.

VI. THE FOLLOWING FACTORS ARE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION TO ASHLEY ACADEMY
• The applicant’s developmental readiness or level of academic achievement
• Evidence of applicant’s potential for success
• Evaluation of the applicant’s personal qualities and ability to adjust to school and community life
• Evidence of parental cooperation and support

VII. ENROLLMENT
An offer of enrollment must be confirmed by submitting an enrollment contract with the required yearly maintenance and materials fee deposit of $550 by the designated date. This deposit is non-refundable.
