Our 5th - 9th graders had an incredible opportunity featured by WJHL
After months of learning and caring for trout in our classrooms, students released them into the river, bringing their studies full circle. This is applied learning at its best: turning knowledge into real-life experience and participating in the life cycle firsthand.

This morning during Trail Team time, our K–4th students teamed up with our 5th–9th students for Reading Buddies! Together, they shared books about aquatic creatures as our K-4th students prepare for their upcoming Kid Zoo.
Beyond building excitement for learning, this was a chance for our older students to practice leadership and mentorship while fostering connections across grade levels. Opportunities like these set Ashley Academy apart, our students don’t just learn alongside their classmates, they learn from and with all ages.
This month’s character trait is Respect, and we saw it in action today: respect shown through listening and encouraging.

Trail Tracks Ceremony 2025 is in the (year)books! Our kindergarten though second graders spun the wheel and learned what Trail Team they would join for their entire Ashley Academy career. Our Trail Teams are each responsible for teaching others about two of our "Animal Instincts," which are character traits that empower students to become confident and capable leaders.
Each Trail Team has their own mascot and symbol that represent something special about East Tennessee and embody strength of character.

We are honored to have Dr. Susan Rollins as part of our Ashley Academy community and serving as one of our Cross Country coaches and as a former parent. Her story, recently highlighted by Davidson College, is a wonderful example of dedication, perseverance, and the lifelong impact of athletics.

🧠 Our 1st graders took us on a journey through the brain today! They shared what different parts of the brain do and reminded us of the power of having a growth mindset over a fixed one.
